Best Self-Expelling Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum and mop with easy set-up and maintenance, we suggest buying one that has a a convenient base station. This makes it simple to clean or replace cleaning pads and empty the dirty water tank.

Think about a device with Wi-Fi connectivity, so you can plan your home and set up automated/set timers. You can also utilize features such as vacuum and mop switches.

1. Roborock S7 Max Ultra

This high-powered robot vacuum and mop performs lots of work. It cleans floors, detects carpets and then automatically empty its own water and dustbin tanks. It also has powerful suction and is able to even dispensate detergent. All this comes with a price tag of $1200. It's also the most expensive robot vacuum and mop package I've ever reviewed.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to install straight out from the box. After plugging it into the wall, it will prompt you to map out your home using sensors. It will continue to use that information to stay clear of obstacles. In our tests, it was able to avoid getting caught up in power cords, long curtains, and even dog toys. It's not perfect but it sometimes ran into obstacles such as tangled wires or some odd book or toy.

You can control the S7 Max Ultra via its smartphone app, and that's where you'll find all of the advanced features that differentiate it from other robotic vacuums and mop. They include specific room-specific cleaning and mopping settings, a time planner, mopping and vacuuming power strengths, and integrations with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for smart home integration. Its extensive feature set means the S7 Max Ultra can do nearly everything a standard robot vacuum does, but at a fraction of the cost.

The S7 Max Ultra vacuuming is amazing. It did a fantastic job of removing dirt, pet fur, and other debris on carpet and hard floors. The automatic emptying of the dustbin was flawless in our tests. This was very and reassuring. It also boasts a 5100 Pa HyperForce suction rating, which is considerably better than the 2,500Pa power of the S6 MaxV and S7.

The S7 Max Ultra mopping performance was also excellent, but not the most efficient. It utilized the special microfiber mop pad that sucks up liquids and utilizes sonic vibration technology to scrub floors up to 3,000 times per minute, which was a bit faster than the X1 Omni's circular pads, which spin at a speed of 180 revolutions per minute. The S7 Max Ultra's ReactiveAI 2.0 obstruction recognition system is excellent. During our testing it didn't snag on any object and it avoided power cords or long curtains as well as other obstacles that could be in the way 100% of the time.

2. Narwal Freo

Vacuuming and mopping your floors is a chore that we all hate, but are essential to maintain a clean home. It's also a messy, and often smelly job, and can be a challenge to get done as it requires handling dirty water and dustbins, and ensuring that hair or debris doesn't clog the brushes or traps. This is the reason why vacuuming and mopping robots have become so popular. A lot of these machines require you to empty the dustbin and wash and rinse mop pads by hand. This is a hassle particularly if you have to repeat this process several times during or after cleaning sessions. We're glad to see that some manufacturers are introducing self-emptying robots that make this process much simpler.

The Narwal Freo is the latest addition to this category of robotic cleaners and it is equipped with a variety of new sensors, software and hardware enhancements designed to keep it at the top of its class. This includes the trademarked DirtSense technology as well as the Smart-Swing feature, both of which work to better sense the surface being cleaned and automatically alters the cleaning mode based on the kind of flooring it is. The Freo also monitors dirt and automatically cleans mops when they are full. This increases the efficiency for subsequent cleaning sessions as it does not return to areas that are soiled.

The Freo is also a step forward over its predecessor in that it is controlled directly via the LCD touchscreen at its base station. This is in addition to the smartphone app. This is the first robot vacuum and mop combo to offer this feature. It's a nice addition if you don't want to use the app. You can even optimize the route during a session using the controls on the LCD screen. You can also make sure that the robot is doing what you would like it to accomplish.

The Narwal Freo is also quiet when it is in suction mode, with a noise level of only 63dB. The Freo's maintenance is not completely hands-free, however. You'll need to clean the primary brush roll and the side brushes periodically.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T9+

The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ (available at The Good Guys for $1279) is one of the most efficient self-emptying robot vacuum and mop combinations on the market. It can map your home, vacuum and mop while avoiding obstructions and avoiding them. It can even emit an air freshener which is a cool feature.

It's simple to set up, using the app to create an accurate map of your home, which it uses while cleaning. The app allows you to choose specific rooms or areas to be cleaned. You can also set the time of day you'd like it to start cleaning, so that your floors are cleaned while you're sleeping or away.

In our tests we found the T9+ to be extremely good in getting around obstacles. However, it has a tendency to take slightly erratic routes around the house, which frequently meant it ended up back at the same place it had started cleaning just a few minutes earlier. This didn't happen often, but it was enough to be noticeable and it is something worth keeping in mind.

The T9+ comes with a variety of accessories including the robotic cleaner, a docking station, and an auto-empty station. More Support mopping module and the dust bin replacement are available separately.

Its enhanced navigation systems mapping, obstacle detection and mapping are designed to ensure a spotless clean of your home without interruptions. The upgraded 3D obstacle detection and avoidance technology recognizes objects in high-precision to avoid collisions, entanglements, or disruptions.

The Deebot T9+ can sweep and vacuum at the same time. Your floor will look as good as it did when you first bought it. The disposable mopping pads are simple to use and the microfiber cloth effectively absorbs dust, seals away stains, and doesn't leave any residue. The huge volume 2.5L auto-empty station holds up to 30 days of debris and does not leaking, making it easy to keep your home tidy with little effort. The T9+ also has an upgraded 3000Pa vacuum motor that delivers powerful suction to ensure an effective clean.

4. iRobot Combo j7+

The iRobot Combo j7+ robot is an excellent choice for cleaning floors. It's a mop and a vacuum all in one and it has both excellent obstacle avoidance and home navigation. This lets it identify your home and clean areas, without crashing into furniture or walls. It's also easy to make use of the app to define zones for areas that must be cleaned or ones that you want it to avoid, as well as establish specific no-mop and no-sweep boundaries.

IRobot's iAdapt technology 2.0 is an integral part of what makes Combo j7and smart. This is a front camera that sits atop most of its robots to detect dangers, like pet waste or power cords and to avoid them. iAdapt 2.0 also allows the Combo J7+ robot to detect dirt levels, and focus more on those areas.

When the Combo J7+ senses that it is on a floor that requires mopping, an arm of a robot with mop pads lifts from beneath the vacuum. It then mops the floor until it is aware that mopping pads are dry which only takes about 90 seconds.

The Combo J7+ can sense carpeting, too. This is ideal for homes that have an assortment of hard flooring and rugs. It will not try to push the rug across it, but instead will pull away if the device feels it cannot make it across the area without damaging the carpet or itself.

The Combo J7+ is simple to control from the mobile application that is user-friendly and well-designed. It works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa so you can begin cleaning with a voice. The only downside was the small water tank on the Combo J7+, which means that you need to refill it often or limit the mopping to smaller spaces and use it more frequently in eco-mode.

The Combo j7+ has small dust bins that you must empty manually. I also found the Combo j7+'s mop pads to be less efficient than other brands which is unfortunate because it's an otherwise excellent combination robot.
